A winter wedding in the Southern Highlands always hits me right in the feels. Bendooley Estate really run a tight ship and know exactly how to put on an amazing celebration for all seasons, without being huge stress heads that get in the way of people’s enjoyment. A few venue’s in the Southern highlands take a break over winter but thankfully Bendooley Estate doesn’t. I’ve been blessed to document probably close to 10 weddings at Bendooley Estate over the years and I don’t know if I’ll ever tire of shooting them. If you’re looking for a list of Southern Highlands wedding venues to compare I’ve got one of those you can check out here.
As Ash & Amani’s wedding was a winter affair which can be touch and go in the Southern Highlands, they came prepared with gloves and an array of fur coats for the occasion. I have a huge soft spot for winter weddings. There’s something about the contrast of the warm emotions and all the love in the air against the bare trees and the cold air on your face. If you’d like to see more winter shoots I’ve done to help convince you to ditch the sweaty February wedding in favour of something a bit more chill, have a look here or here.
Ash & Amani hit the perfect colour palette to go along with the weather for their southern highlands winter wedding and I gotta say it makes my job a ton easier when couples pick incredible outfits that suit the venue and the time of year. Big shoutout to Ash & Amani’s guests for kicking off a killer dance floor that made this wedding especially memorable.
I’ve actually written an entire blog post with tips for having your own Southern Highlands winter wedding which you can find here.
