Josh is an amazing wedding/elopement photographer! We worked with him for our elopement in Royal National Park. We decided to go with him over some other photographers after seeing some of his photos of other outdoor elopements. And we're glad we did! I was fortunate to be mentored by Josh while he was in the UK, shooting a wedding here. We started with a whole day of 1-1 mentoring at my home and around town. Josh tailored his advice to my needs and quickly identified the areas I needed to improve on. His advice transformed my photography overnight! And I'm still using things that Josh taught me 4 years ago. I also accompanied Josh during a wedding shoot. His people skills are second to none and it was incredible to see him working with people to achieve the photos that he does.

Josh photographed our wedding. Right from our first message I was confident that he was the perfect choice. His manner in advance communication, as well as conduct and collaboration on the day, was incredibly professional and at the same time easy-going. The easy-going part was important to us. Josh has a great eye for candid and organised shots. We've just worked through our final gallery (which is a great platform I should add - lets you search by faces, as well as favourite photos, distribute to guests, order prints, etc). I glanced at our 'Favourites' selection, and it's pretty much the entire gallery! I'm very pleased to recommend Josh wholeheartedly.

Josh shot our wedding over six months ago and we till haven't been able to conjure up the words to describe how amazing josh and his work is. If you want a wedding photographer who authentically captures every moment of your wedding with ease and comfort, who can bring to life the personalities in each picture and make you and your bridal party feel comfortable in front of the camera, then Josh is without a doubt your guy. It was really important to us that the pictures we took were not only candid and honest but also the experience in taking the pictures had to be equally enjoyable. And my goodness, did Josh make that happen! He slipped into our wedding day like he was one of our own and made each member of our bridal party and our (very camera shy) families feel totally relaxed around the camera. Josh Mikhaiel is one of those rare humans who can take a camera and somehow capture not just what a wedding looks like, but what it *feels* like. A storyteller with soul, a photographer with patience, and a good mate of mine to boot. His work is honest, romantic, and never overcooked—just the way it should be. If you're lucky enough to have Josh shoot your wedding in Brisbane or the Gold Coast, you've already won.

Joshua was incredible from the moment we first contacted him. Very responsive and flexible - travelling all the way to the Blue Mountains from the Gold Coast to capture our special day. You might think an interstate photographer was a big risk for us to take during COVID times but our hearts were set on him and his style. We knew he was worth the risk and he had organised a contingency plan so there was never an anxious moment. Joshua not only took some beautiful photos (a sneak preview sent promptly following the wedding) but became part of the day, taking time to get to know us, our friends and family. I reckon this is what sets him apart - making us all feel comfortable around him = natural, beautiful photos which live up to his tag line, “capturing how it felt”. Word of advice: make sure he’s around for sunset. He knows how to get that sparkle. We were looking for a Photographer that captured raw, honest and beautiful photo's for our elopement in Mullumbimby - when we came across Josh's stunning portfolio we knew he was the guy. Josh was a fantastic photographer. He was the first vendor I booked in once we knew our date as I loved his work and had always known he’d be the one to shoot our wedding. We had a very small wedding and Josh’s photos made it seem larger than life. He took pictures that really encapsulated the day and showed the love and excitement between us and our families. He got the pictures back to us on a really easy to navigate site, and had previews to us less than 12 hours after he’d gone home. We added on film and I’m so glad I did as they are gorgeous additions to our photos. He really nailed the vision I had and was so easy to communicate with on the day. His directions were so easy to follow and for many of my family who don’t love to be in front of the camera this was greatly appreciated. All of the photos are so natural and fluid and it feels like a Pinterest fairytale board come to life. Im not a particularly emotional person but I nearly cried when I saw the pictures. We took our pre wedding photo shoot with Josh during our trip to Sydney and it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. We received the photos from Josh only a week after the photo shoot and all the photos came out so great that I couldn't wait to show them off to all my friends and family once I received the photos! If you want authentic wedding photos that don’t feel posed or contrived, Josh is your guy! We had so much fun with him and the photos truly captured what the entire day was for us. His photos are real and emotional and it was an absolute pleasure to celebrate our day with him. 110% recommend!

If i could give 5+ stars i would!! The best decision (other than getting married) was hiring Josh as our wedding photographer! I am usually a control freak but the minute we met Josh i knew we could leave everything in his very capable hands. We searched through many many many photographers and videographers and Josh was always a page who's photography i loved but was out of our price range. In the end i sacrificed other parts of the wedding budget in order to have Josh and we even ended up firing our previous wedding videographer (not sure if you know this Josh lol) to hire someone he suggested so that the day was as smooth as possible. We never once felt uncomfortable or forced into fake posing photos the entire day which is exactly what we wanted, josh felt like part of the bridal party and we just loved having the stress free good vibes around all day! He did an amazing job at capturing real raw moments and we will forever be in awe of our beautiful photos and delicious album we just received. We could not possibly have asked for a better photographer than Josh. From our very first interactions online he was warm, helpful and so accommodating to our individual needs. On the day of our wedding he made every photo-taking-moment fun and relaxed. The reason my hubby and I decided to have Josh capture our special day, was because of his obvious ability to capture genuine, candid photo's and he did NOT disappoint! From the moment we got in touch with him to the moment we received our photo's back, the process was seemless and stress-free. On the day, Josh had the rare and incredible ability to not only fit in with the guests with his warm sense of humour and easygoing nature (which put everyone at ease), but to also fade into the background and capture some incredibly emotional images. Josh was flexible throughout the day, keeping us on schedule without it ever feeling that way and was very considerate, checking in with us to see if we needed a break from the camera. While my hubby and I won't be able to personally support Josh again through the wedding industry, we will support him by following on the socials and recommending him to everyone we know! Joshua is such a fun and kind soul. You can see he takes his job seriously but in such a fun manner!! When organising a time to meet up before the wedding, I asked if we could met in person as i do better face to face. Joshua was more than happy and even suggested a coffee place!! Meeting him in person made me more confident in knowing he was the photographer for us. During the limo ride, I was so nervous how to take pictures at our designated areas chosen. But he reassured us to just act as our selves and low and behold they were amazing. For the moments no one knew what to do, he would offer different options to catch "in the moment pictures" such as whisper games (which turned out great XD). At our wedding, he was all over the dancefloor. Whilst dancing with the guests, he would take candid pictures which (how do i say this) are different to your usual candid pictures. They felt so real and raw and you can genuenly see the guests emotions and how they must feel in the moment. I dont just recceomend him for weddings. Id say ask him to see if he not only does weddings as he is amazing. I saw on his website he has started to do small videos too. If i could have hired him to do that for our wedding (as he was not doing so at the time), I would have in the blink fo an eye!! Anytime someone asks me who i had as my photographer for my wedding, i mention Josh and show them pictures and they are blown away. Thankyou Josh!!

Josh is a one of a kind wedding photographer. He possesses an innate ability to bring such grounded fun and sincerity. As the couple being married, he makes you feel like everything is possible and no requests are too silly. You will not regret booking Josh, he is quite literally the best in the biz.

I cannot rave about Josh enough. Not only are his photos authentic, unique and completely capture the rawness of the day. He is an absolute dream to work with. My goal for the wedding day was “only good vibes and energy around me”. Josh was this to a tee. Such a support, fun and bubbly energy, easy going, creative, helpful!
