Royal National Park, Sydney
Melanie and Adam’s wedding at Audley Dance Hall began in the heat and ended with rain, laughter and a celebration full of feeling.
The setting was Royal National Park, south of Sydney. It was a hot day when I arrived, and a storm was building.
After ten years together, Melanie and Adam marked this next chapter with a day that felt deeply connected to the people around them. The weather changed, but the warmth of the celebration stayed.
A riverside ceremony
Adam’s gifts to his wedding party were memorable: personalised axes rather than the more familiar hip flasks.
The Vintage Stylus helped set the atmosphere with music from a vintage record player.
A small doorway framed Melanie’s entrance, with flowers that suited the surrounding landscape. Cloud cover softened the light before the heavier rain arrived.
The timber and generous space inside the hall gave the reception its character. The styling felt relaxed and personal.
When rain arrived during portraits, Melanie and Adam made the most of the moment. Their photographs in the rowing boat became some of my favourites from the day.
