Wowsers. Melanie & Adam’s Audley Dance Hall Wedding. What can I say?
Let’s set the scene shall we. We’re in the second largest National Park in the world (After Yellowstone in the United States) It’s 35 degrees celsius. You could have cooked an egg on the bonnet of my car or probably on any surface outside it felt like… I step out of my air conditioned car to walk 10 metres to the little cottage the boys are staying in and immediately feel the sweat beading on my forehead. I can tell this shirt isn’t going to be worn again already.
But there’s a storm coming. As there often is on a summer afternoon in Australia. But the storm we witnessed this day was not just the culmination of dark clouds, thunder crashes and stinging rain. It was the culmination of 10 years of romantic entanglement between Adam and Melanie… the culmination of their lives melting together in the heat, their differences, their entire stories now all tangled up in oneness. Celebrated in such wonderful style that really was the perfect setting for their 10 year anniversary. I think it might be hard to top this Anniversary for them in the coming years but for people with love as rare as these two share I am sure they will only build on the magnificence of their wedding day in the years to come. This was just the beginning..
Audley Dance Hall Wedding
Gotta say these gifts for the boys in the grooms party where pretty special. I mean a hip flask with your name on it is a nice memory but your own axe… I mean c’mon that’s just so cool.
Adam & Mel’s ceremony was a truly gorgeous affair. Such incredibly beautiful styling. From the Vintage record player controlling the vibes thanks to The Vintage Stylus.
The little doorway these guys had leading into the ceremony for Mel to walk through was probably one of my favourite pieces of wedding styling to date. Such beautiful boho vibes. The beautiful floral decorations also just added so much flavour to the setting, perfectly chosen natives to match the Australian landscape the ceremony was in. We luckily had some incredibly beautiful cloud cover before the storm fully rolled in so we managed to have beautiful soft light. It was such a beautiful setting right by the river.
Styling the reception for your Audley Dance Hall wedding is a breeze with the way the room is set up. It’s an absolutely stunning blank canvas. Timber everywhere. Festoon lighting and a huge fireplace in the centre of the room. You’ve got so much space to style it as you please and all the wedding I’ve shot here have found really fun ways to style the space that feel really unique and fun.
Mucking around barefoot in the rain is pretty fun at the best of times but Mel & Adam really made the most of it once the rain showed up just as we started taking photos. They were such troopers and didn’t hesitate at all to get wet and just make the most of it. These shots of them in the row boat on the river in the rain made me feel like I was shooting a scene straight out of the notebook.
