A day of long drives, mountain lakes and time on the walking tracks became an unforgettable elopement with Joel and Bridgette.

They brought an adventurous spirit and a clear sense of what mattered to them. I was grateful to be part of such a small, personal celebration.

The walk left me with sore legs the next day, but also with photographs I still love. The landscape gave their quiet moments an extraordinary setting.

The day began at their accommodation, known as the Container, some distance from the park. Their hosts acted as witnesses for the legal ceremony before we travelled to Cradle Mountain.

Later, they shared the personal vows they had written for each other in the mountain landscape.
