Choosing a wedding photographer to capture the celebration is one of the more important decisions you’ll make.
This is the part where I am supposed to do a sleazy sales pitch, aimed at proving I’m the best photographer in Toowoomba. But I find that kind of thing pretty on the nose and I’m sure you do to.
Weddings should be a celebration of love, connection, family and all the weird uncles that come with that. Not a feeding frenzy for an industry that’s strangely concerned with cakes that seem to last a lifetime

For example… if you’re having a super weird awkward time being photographed. Even if that photo turns out great. You’ll always look at it on the wall remembering how awkward you felt. So as much as choosing an epic photographer matters. Focus yourselves on having the most amazing celebration because if your photographer is half doing their job. That joy, excitement and life should really flow through those pictures.
Why I love photographing Toowoomba weddings so much
Since I moved to Queensland 3 years ago Toowoomba has been my favourite place to photograph mostly because it reminds me so much of some of my favourite places in NSW where I grew up. The rural landscapes and huge old trees and older style homes & venues really speak to me in a way that so many other places around this state don’t.
Being a Toowoomba wedding photographer feels a lot like going home for the day. Working the kinds of wedding venues I used to work at every weekend. Seriously though. On your hunt for your goldilocks and the three bears; “just right” person to tag along as your Toowoomba wedding photographer. Ask yourself. Would I be friends with this person in real life? Will I find their presence fun for our entire wedding day.
People often don’t realise their wedding photographer can sort of function as a bonus member of their bridal party. They will be with you all day. From the getting ready till everyones cutting the rug well into the evening. Trust me, you wanna have a coffee or a zoom meeting and make sure I’m not weird.
But I am weird. And maybe you’re weird too, and maybe we can be weird together? But my solemn advice, (as a weirdo) is that you take your time to make sure your photographer is the right fit for you. I wont get butt-hurt if I’m not the right fit for you. But I will be sad if you look back on your photos and your wedding day and wish you’d done anything differently.
